A 20 years celebration of AKKO ART GALLERY
.
Exhibition Period: Today-3 September 2010
Venue: 3rd,4th fl., Wall
Organizer: Akko Art Gallery
.
It has been 20 years since Akko Art Gallery opened on Sukhumvit Road and within that time period there have been countless numbers of encounters with artists based in Thailand as well as from overseas. The list was narrowed down to just 20 artists to represent the past into the future of contemporary art in Bangkok through the “20/20” vision of Akko. Therefore, we asked the artists to uphold Akko Art Gallery’s values to provide only non-exhibited new works that have no religious icons and to be non-violent for this special event with an emphasis on looking into the past 20 years, now and into the future.

“Artifice” Exhibition
.
Exhibition Period: Today-22 August 2010
Venue: 2nd fl.
Organizer: International Program in Design and Architecture, Chulalongkorn University
.
Artifice is a show of contemporary Thai photographic work by eleven young artists who embarked together to New York City to independently map and document specific districts of the city. “Artifice” is a show dealing with boundaries, both in the frame and in human experience. Facades are thick in Manhattan though and neighborhoods cultural and social history impenetrable. Surface becomes very important as does the construction of human artifice, whether social or physical. This group of eleven photographers found themselves faced with a problem of access, and permeating the actual experience of areas of Brooklyn and Manhattan.
.
Eighteen nights were spent in the city by the group going everyday to the same
neighborhoods seeking to find a way to respond to the surfaces, and rituals of America’s
uniquely strange gotham. Mapping was the term a number of artists started with at the beginning when they arrived in New York. However, final works were fleshed out in a number of different manners. Many prints on display as part of “Artifice” at the BACC are primarily intuitive creations, including grids of the surface of areas of sand in the Russian-enclave of Brighton Beach, or an index of trash found on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Artists in the show are: Tadyanee Koranee, Pree Thirakul, Somsiri Katekong, Thaniya Siriyodhin, Issare Trongkamolthum, Thanapha Temjaroen, Malin Phlernjai, Pratan Tingsomchaisilp, Nutthapat Thanapoonyanan, Sorawit Vijitpornkul,
Somruthai Vipaswatcharayothin.
.
Works were all created as part of summer programs at the International Progam in
Design and Architecture at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Homeland in Dream (YORUNE MENAGERU MOVEMENT)
.
Nominated at “SHINJU KHAITEN” Nippon National Art Biennale 1994, venue was Ueno International Fine Arts Museum in Tokyo. Now “Homeland in Dream!” to be placed in the Grand Hotel of Kimitsu-shi, Ciba, Japan.
.
Art prolongs the border of exclusiveness of love, life & life-stream through its transcendental movement whether the obvious stateliness of human quest runs in the state of subtle awakening or in dream. This is Art that enlivens every single being into a kind of cherished mood, which can’t help making enthusiastic, or animated unwinding the mind from the bustle of din & duty for some moment.
.
Hence through this genius magnum opus Mr. Blue is reborn again with the rising shinning radiance of brilliancy in Japan. Most Japanese intermittently call up Mr. Blue as the re-embodiment of artistic Vision leaving apart his first born-land, Bangladesh. As Bangladesh is his first born-land, so is Japan sporadically his second resurgence through the masterpiece of Art: “YORUNE MENAGERU MOVEMENT” i.e. “Homeland in Dream!”
.
This piece of Art says: “The Artist returns his first Motherland in the grave silence of Nature through his Trance & abstraction of past thoughts.” When everything in the nature wings to the lap of forty winks, the soul of this pensive Artist revives its movement to fly for his first innate Love, his first Motherland, Bangladesh!
.
Meanwhile, the glorious movement of remembering moment arises in the firmament of prominent celebration as 39th National Exhibition in UENO International Fine Art Museum in Tokyo, Japan, 1994. It is particularly named “Shinzu-Kaiten”, which has brought Mr. Bulbul the magnificent award in his life span. As usually, with the other genius hands (the Artists) Mr. Blue was accredited with the brilliant shows for 38 times out of which 8 of them was his solo movement.
.
On asking to his adoration to Art, Mr. Blue says: “Art is my Life, my Life Stream! If the world is taken on one pan of the Scale and the Art on the another one, my penchant passion on Art will never pay any look to the world-pan” And truly it is his adoration that embraces his gifted hands on Art.
.
Now Mr. Blue is a character of admiration & wonder but what really it took from him to be paid unto this success? Blue’s voice sores with grieves and melancholy statements saying: “I was complete alone on way to this Success. No one there was to assist me, to inspire me, to pat me a little simply with a bit of love. Rather there was a lot of problem proceeding my mission day after day, night after night. Sometimes I felt the severest acrimony on my life & longing, responsibilities & duties for life & living. But at my next gait, I was glowed with my innate burn desire for the passion of Art, my Love, my Life.”
.
It is also said that accordingly Islam, Art is not an enthusiastic phenomenon because of its stillness and nonbeing state. But Blue says: “To my vision, Religion is a part of my life long course to lead but Art is my entail mean to enliven my Life.” And with this point of view all the Japanese also configures the shape of his gifted proclivity to a new horizon tracing him into a Genius Hand for all the living souls that breathe for success and burning desire! The Nipponese say: “Mr. Blue hasn’t broken the rule of nature that flows into every being throughout the stated faith or philosophy; he has just simply emblazoned his passion with some traces of colour and views. So why should we not pay look to him?”
.
And with this the grandeur composition of Aika-Wa-Blue has been resolved into the shear sight of Japanese, which has brought the grand place for this piece of master work “Yorune Menageru Movement” i.e. “Homeland in Dream!” to be placed in the Grand Hotel of Kimitsu-shi, Ciba, Japan.

My night give me the passion to see dreams. The life of fisherman at night attracts me. I enjoy their appearance in my world. Their busy life makes my night full of uproar, where I find full satisfaction. Sometimes clouds, sometimes moonlight cover me in my night. Fisherman’s dream to catch fish and my dream is to put words in my art.

I came alone, now lonely on the way of life, no one help me. Must be I will go back alone from the world we also. But sometimes I feel the severest acrimony on our life & longing, thinking responsibilities our life & living. Our life burn desire for the passion of peace. Religion is part of our life long course to lead on peace. We don’t know where our output is, because we taking day by day on criticize of the Scale of peace. But I don’t just thinking to evolution of peace. If suddenly once a morning we discontinue to life, and then better for return to Struggle.
